Pretty good for a toy slide August 13, 2010 Tara N. As a skimboarder, I thought buying this product would be a great substitute to driving to the beach an hour away. First off, the instructional video is worthless, you can learn a lot more just by attempting tricks from other board sports out there, and some of the names of the tricks were inaccurate. The instructions failed to mention that the slide has to be on a completely 100% flat surface nor did it mention that a high water bill to fill the sides and constantly fill the slide back up with water would ensue. My backward's grass is like mush and is sloped at the end, so I had to move it 3 times to get it to the best leveled area (good luck moving it without draining out the water!) I've already spent 4 hours moving the slide all over my yard, rolling my body on the grass to flatten it, filling the sides up with water, and trying to fill the actual slide (which by the way is still only 3/4 full--finishing it tomorrow). I guarantee you'll need a lot of time, energy, willpower, and money for that water bill to set up the slide. However, I'm sure if/when I get the slide finished it'll be worth it. If it works just like the ad says, it'll be a fun experience and will hopefully inspire others to skim.
I read the reviews and thought our yard was flat, but not flat enough July 28, 2010 L. White (Seattle, WA) I thought our yard was flat, I read the reviews and thought that there was no way that our yard would effect the way this product worked, but it did. The kids use it for a slip and slide, the water doesn't get deap enough to even attempt to board on it. Total POC, do not waste your money.
waste of money October 24, 2009 P. Smith (Beckley, WV USA) area must be perfectly flat and this is very hard to use. the water did not spray up on the sides, was very upset with this product. i would never tell anyone this was fun or easy to use.
Good quality September 3, 2009 J. Friesen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very good quality. Very thick plastic. I wanted something that would last a little longer then one use and this one will. Our oldest of 4 (age 5 and below)tried the board a few times, but we mostly just used it as a slip n slide. It's obviously a little tough to get cleaned up and put away, but wasn't bad. I'm happy with my purchase.
Don't waste your money August 7, 2009 Angela Bergholtz (Chenango Forks, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You have to have a 100% flat surface to use this item. We bought it for my son's birthday party and have a somewhat flat ground. We set it up the night before the party, didn't work. We couldn't use the skimboard because it didn't fill with water due to the uneven ground. The kids used it more like a slip-n-slide. The end busted out before the party even started. It is a huge waste of money unless your yard is completely level. I was so dissapointed and so were the kids after seeing how "cool" it looks on TV.
